Middle School Choral Ensembles
Basso Chorus
The Basso Chorus is open to all lower voiced students, grades 7-8, with no audition requirement.
This class emphasizes proper vocal technique, understanding musical notation, sight-reading skills, and exploring choral literature. This performs in a required District Choral Assessment.
Intermediate Treble Chorus
The Intermediate Treble Chorus is open to all beginning higher voiced students, grades 7, with no audition requirement.
This class emphasizes proper vocal technique, understanding musical notation, sight-reading skills, and exploring choral literature. This choir performs in a required District Choral Assessment.
Advanced Treble Chorus
The Ladies Select chorus is an auditioned ensemble open to SCMS higher voiced students in grade 8.
This is a select ensemble that is intended for the disciplined, highly motivated, musically talented student. Students receive instruction in vocal techniques such as breathing, diction, and phrasing while focusing on more advanced literature and sight-reading skills.
This is the ensemble that represents South County Middle School in the surrounding community at performances both during and after school, on weekdays and weekends, and at a variety of venues.
